Roadworks – 14 to 18 November 2022

Due to extensive roadworks the week of November 14, 2022, residents are strongly advised to avoid:

  • Main Road, between Quarry Point and Bellevue, between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., Monday, November 14th through Friday, November 18th. Access to Main Road will be very limited and subject to closures and detours. 
  • Sunrise Street from Monday, November 14th, through to Thursday, November 17th: avoid the areas around 11 and 26 Sunrise.
  • St-Jean, between Cameron and McNaughten: street closed.

No private contractors will be allowed to park on the street in the work zone. Residents are asked to either allow their contractor to park on their property or postpone the work to the following week.

Here are the details for the week of November 14th to 18th: 

ALI EXCAVATION:

Monday, 14 November:

  • Start of pavement structure shaping and correction.
  • Complete closure of Main Road. Restricted access to residents only. 

Tuesday, 15 November:

  • Continuation of pavement structure shaping and correction.
  • Complete closure of Main Road. Restricted access to residents only.

Wednesday, 16 November:

  • Start of paving operations,
  • Continuation of pavement structure shaping and correction, crushing of pavement.
  • FULL CLOSURE to allow for a mobile convoy from 7:00 a.m. until possibly 7:00 p.m.; access restricted to residents but delays and detours to be expected; wait time of up to 20 minutes to enter or exit cross streets and accesses, and one-way direction.

Thursday, 17 November:

  • Continuation of paving operations.
  • Continuation of pavement structure shaping and correction
  • Beginning of ditch work and finishing
  • FULL CLOSURE to allow for a mobile convoy from 7:00 a.m. until possibly 7:00 p.m.; access restricted to residents but delays and detours to be expected; wait time of up to 20 minutes to enter or exit cross streets and accesses, and one-way direction.

Main Road will be open between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m.
Please note that the work of our contractor Ali Excavation Inc. is subject to change without notice.
The contractor has committed to updating the addresses on the signs indicating the closed areas on a daily basis.

EXO:

Work on the level crossing on Beach continues traffic will be alternating, but there are no street closures planned.

PUBLIC WORKS:

Tree trimming on Main Road from Montée Lavigne eastward continues throughout the week.
