Due to extensive roadwork the week of October 24, 2022, residents are strongly advised to avoid:

  • Main Road, between Quarry Point and Bellevue, between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., Monday, October 24 through Friday, October 28. Access to Main Road will be very limited and subject to closures and detours.
  • Wharf Road from Monday, October 24 to Friday, October 28; complete closure of the level crossing. A detour will be put in place on Yacht Club Road to access Jack Layton Park.
  • Yacht Club Road on Thursday, October 27, between 9 a.m. and noon.

Here are the details :

Monday, October 24th :

  • Replacement of catch basins and pipes in front of 260 Main Road; complete closure.
  • Replacement of longitudinal culvert west of Royal Oak Street; complete closure, emergency vehicle access or collection vehicles only.
  • Replacement of longitudinal culvert in front of 229 Main Road; complete closure, emergency vehicle access or collection vehicles only.
  • EXO to perform work on the Wharf Road level crossing. Complete closure of the level crossing, detour via Yacht Club Road to access Jack Layton Park.
  • Flushing of the aqueduct network.
  • Reprofiling of the ditch at 112 Mount Pleasant.
  • Removal of the floating dock at Jack Layton Park.

Tuesday, October 25th :

  • Replacement of the cross culvert near 219 Main Road; complete closure.
  • Replacement of longitudinal culvert between 171 Main Road and 169 Main Road; complete closure, emergency vehicle access or collection only.
  • Work on the Wharf Road level crossing. Complete closure of the crossing, detour via Yacht Club Street to access Jack Layton Park.
  • Flushing of the aqueduct network.
  • Reprofiling of the ditch at 112 Mount Pleasant.
  • Removal of pedestrian lane posts on Bellevue.
  • Removal of speed bumps on Cambridge and Mayfair Streets.

Wednesday, October 26th :

  • Widening of Main Road from 322 Main Road to Bellevue; complete closure, access for emergency vehicles or collection only.
  • Work on the Wharf Road level crossing. Complete closure of the crossing, detour via Yacht Club Street to access Jack Layton Park.
  • Flushing of the aqueduct network.
  • Removal of pedestrian lane posts on Bellevue.
  • Removal of speed bumps on Cambridge and Mayfair Streets.

Thursday, October 27th :

  • Widening of Main Road from 333 Main Road; complete closure, access for emergency vehicles or collection only.
  • Work on the Wharf Road level crossing. Complete closure of the crossing, detour via Yacht Club Street to access Jack Layton Park.
  • Complete closure of Yacht Club Road for 30 minutes between 9:00 a.m. and noon to offload equipment needed for EXO work.
  • Flushing of the aqueduct network.
  • Removal of pedestrian lane posts on Bellevue.
  • Removal of speed bumps on Cambridge and Mayfair Streets.

Friday, October 28th :

  • Widening of Main Road from 333 Main Road; complete closure, access for emergency vehicles or collection only.
  • Work on the Wharf Road level crossing. Complete closure of the crossing, detour via Yacht Club Street to access Jack Layton Park.
  • Flushing of the aqueduct network.

The contractor will advise residents prior to undertaking the work on the access culverts.
Main Road will be open between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m.

The contractor has committed to updating the addresses on the signs indicating the closed areas on a daily basis.
