To celebrate Earth Day, the Town of Hudson is giving away 110 trees to residents on May 9th.
Registration is required
♣ Register now to get your free tree — quantities are limited!
♣One tree per civic address. Trees are reserved on a first-registered, first-served basis.
♣The earlier you register, the better your chance of receiving your first choice.
You can choose among 4 (four) species of trees:
- Serviceberry ‘Autumn Brilliance’
- Native Hardwood
- Small tree with white flowers appreciated by pollinators
- Exposure to sun or part shade
- Not very tolerant of road salt
- Produces small berries that feed birds
- Spacing from power lines: no minimum distance
- Yellow birch
- Native Hardwood
- Large tree with beautiful golden-yellow fragrant bark
- Exposure to sun or part shade
- Moderately tolerant of road salt
- No trimming required
- Spacing from power lines: 12.5 m
- Honeylocust ‘Skyline’
- Very tolerant Hardwood
- Medium tree with light and airy crown
- Exposure to sun required
- Very tolerant of road salt
- Produces long bean pods
- Spacing from power lines: 8 m
- Black walnut
- Hardwood native to Southern Ontario
- Large tree
- Exposure to sun required
- Moderately tolerant of road salt
- Produces large edible nuts
- Spacing from power lines: 12.5 m

We will do our best to give you your first choice!
You will need to pick up your tree on ♣ Saturday, May 9th, during the Town’s Roots and Shoots event, from 9 am to noon at Town Hall.
