Hydro Québec is currently clearing the rights‑of‑way to their distribution lines on the Hudson territory. The work is carried out by qualified companies mandated by Hydro‑Québec.

Hydro clears the area around medium-voltage lines to avoid any risk of serious electric shock, fire or damage to the power system and reduce the frequency and length of any service interruptions. Close to 40% of power outages are caused by branches or trees falling on distribution lines.
