This free lecture, offered by the Town of Hudson and the Hudson Seniors Committee in collaboration with the McGill University Dementia Education Program, is open to all. It will take place in person, in English on May 8.
Note that the lecture is also offered in English on May 8th at 7 p.m.
This public lecture aims to raise awareness and provide basic information about Alzheimer’s disease and other neurocognitive disorders.
During this presentation, Dr. Serge Gauthier, a clinical neurologist, will provide information on the different types of neurocognitive disorders. He will discuss the associated symptoms that manifest as the disease progresses and explain how these may differ from typical aging concerns.
Next, he will share practical advice on how to care for a person living with dementia. He will discuss important considerations to ensure the safety and well-being of both the individual as well as the care partner to help families understand and access the resources needed to navigate this disease.
A question-and-answer period will follow.
