To celebrate National Forest Week, the Town of Hudson is giving away 75 trees to residents on September 28th.
Registration is required
♣ Registration opens at NOON on Monday, September 16th and closes at 9 pm on Sunday, September 22nd or when stock runs out, whichever comes first.
♣ One tree per civic address. Trees are reserved on a first-registered, first-served basis.
♣ The earlier you register, the better your chance of receiving your first choice.
You can choose between three species of trees :
- *** OUT OF STOCK Kentucky Coffee Tree (Gymnocladus dioicus)
- Tree with a large deployment (height at maturity of approximately 20 meters),
- Requires full sun,
- The Kentucky coffee tree has late bluish-green leaves that turn yellow in the fall,
- It also produces small white flowers in early summer and yellow bean-shaped fruits that turn reddish brown during the fall.
- *** OUT OF STOCK Sugar Maple (Acer saccharum)
- Native broadleaf tree
- Large common tree
- Ideal for rich well-drained soils
- Produces samaras
- *** OUT OF STOCK Serviceberry ‘Autumn Brilliance’ (Amelanchier ‘Autumn Brilliance’) :
- Native broadleaf tree
- Small tree – perfect for under hydro lines
- Produces small white flowers that attract pollinators
- Produces small fruit that attracts birds
- You will receive an email confirmation of your registration and the species reserved for you.
- We will do our best to give you your first choice!
- 1You must pick up your tree on ♣ Saturday, September 28th, in the Town Hall parking lot, between 9 am and noon.
♣ At 11 a.m., come and learn about the importance of trees and the right way to plant them, with Dr. Kevin Solarik!
1You will be asked to show proof of residency, which must include your full name and address.
