Art Gallery for Life silent auction

For over 13 years, the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Palliative Care Residence has been offering comfort and reassurance to patients and their loved ones, free of charge. For the families we care for, this is a unique moment in their lives, and they often wish to express their gratitude to the Residence. We also have a number of artists who believe in our mission and have decided to give the gift of beauty through their work. To show their gratitude, these people make gifts of money and others in the form of artworks. Unfortunately, after more than a decade of generosity, the Residence has to part with some sixty paintings to reclaim some space.

That’s why, on November 19th, the Residence is organizing a silent auction from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Hudson Community Centre (394 Main Street, Hudson, QC J0P 1H0). The event has a dual purpose: as a fundraiser but also as a meeting place to discuss palliative care and the services offered at the Maison.

ART EXHIBITION
Among the sixty or so paintings for sale, a number are by local artists, such as Gisèle Lapalme, Gail Descoeurs, Joanna Olson, Nicole Dorion, Janick Ericksen, … We’ll also have a dozen paintings by artist Jay Geeker, who specializes in ‘Precision Pop Art’. His works are internationally renowned, and even interspatial. In fact, one of his paintings ended up on board the International Space Station. Painting sales will take the form of a silent auction, with payment on site by cheque or credit card.

CAFÉ RENCONTRE
It’s not just art lovers who are invited to this wonderful afternoon. In fact, we’re inviting you to rediscover your home, the services it offers, and see their Residence in images. At around 2 p.m., the new corporate video will premiere. There will also be an opportunity to chat with Director of Nursing Mélanie Guérin and General Manager Pascale Boily.

It’s an event not to be missed.
