LESLEY CHESTERMAN began her career in the 1990s working as a pastry chef in Montreal as well as in France. She spent another three years teaching both professional and amateur cooks before starting out in food journalism. In 1997, she began contributing stories to The Gazette’s Food section until 2019 and was the newspaper’s Fine Dining Restaurant Critic for 20 of those years. She released her first best-selling cookbook, Chez Lesley, in French in 2020 and followed that up with the English translation, Make Every Dish Delicious, two years later. Her newest book in French is Un Week-end Chez Lesley. She also writes a weekly newsletter on her Substack page called “Lick My Plate.”
