17 May 17 May 2023: International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia
The Town of Hudson is proud to mark the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia by raising the inclusive flag at the Stephen F. Shaar Community Centre, 394 Main Road
- On May 17, 1990, the World Health Organization removed homosexuality from the list of mental illnesses. Thirty-three years later, we celebrate the 21st edition of the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia.
- On this occasion, we have the duty to take a stand against homophobia and transphobia, which stem from feelings based on myths, stereotypes and prejudices that have no real basis. It is important to counter these beliefs so that LGBTQ+ people can live without fear or discrimination.
- Today, and every day, let’s continue to fight against homophobia and transphobia to make Quebec a more equal society that is proud of its diversity.
