19 Jun Special cardboard collection – Tuesday July 2, 2024
Are you in the process of moving? The MRC de Vaudreuil-Soulanges is holding a special cardboard collection in Hudson on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, the same day as the recyclables collection.
To participate in the collection, dismantle and stack your boxes together by inserting them into a single box or using rope or transparent tape, and place them next to your wheeled bin. To facilitate the collection, please ensure that the maximum size of dismantled boxes is 1 m2.
Giving a Second Life to Almost Everything Through Reuse
Furniture, clothing, and appliances can be easily reused, as can a multitude of other items suitable for reuse. Instead of simply throwing away the items that clutter your space, consider repairing them or donating them to local organizations. Vaudreuil-Soulanges Ecocenter Network
Since moving often involves a thorough cleaning, it’s a good time to remind people of the possibility of disposing of various materials at the region’s Ecocenter Network, diverting them from landfills so they can be recycled, repurposed, or disposed of in an environmentally responsible manner.
Moreover, since many people dispose of their refrigerating appliances (e.g., refrigerator, freezer, wine cellar, dehumidifier, water dispenser, portable air conditioner) during moves, the MRC takes this opportunity to remind you that the organization Carrefour de l’Espoir offers an on-call collection service for refrigerating appliances for all MRC residents. These appliances are also accepted at the ecocenters located in Vaudreuil-Dorion, Rigaud, and Saint-Zotique.
All residents of the 23 municipalities in the Vaudreuil-Soulanges MRC can use the services of the four ecocenters in the network. For efficiency, it is suggested to accumulate your materials and sort them by category before going to the ecocenter to maximize your trip. It is important to note that only cars or trucks (including pickup trucks) and standard trailers with manual unloading are allowed on the site. Larger vehicles and those used for industrial, commercial, institutional, or agricultural activities are prohibited.
Please note that the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Ecocenter Network will be closed on Monday, June 24, 2024, but the ecocenter located in Rigaud will remain open on Monday, July 1, 2024. For a list of accepted materials or for more information on the Ecocenter Network, visit www.tricycle-mrcvs.ca/en or call 450 455-5434.
