Flushing of the aqueduct network begins at 7:30 am on Wednesday September 14th

Employees of the Public Works Department will be flushing the GRAVITY section of the aqueduct network (highlighted in green on the MAP). The work will take place Monday to Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., beginning Wednesday, September 14 and ending Thursday, October 6 at 4:00 p.m.

This operation consists of evacuating the particles and fragments attached to the inside walls of the aqueduct network pipes. The dirty water is evacuated through the fire hydrants.

This large-scale operation can cause a change in water pressure and/or may produce a reddish (rusty) colour. This situation is harmless, and the water is potable, but it is recommended to avoid washing clothes or dishes between 7:30 am and 4:00 pm. If your water appears discoloured, run the cold water until it becomes clear.

A reminder to never leave an open faucet unattended.
