21 Dec For Eco-Friendly Holidays in Vaudreuil-Soulanges
Vaudreuil-Dorion, December 20, 2023 – During this holiday season, often synonymous with gifts and consumption, the MRC wanted to provide some reminders to help residents recover, recycle, or responsibly dispose of their residual materials.
Vaudreuil-Soulanges Ecocenters Network
The ecocenters in Vaudreuil-Dorion, Rigaud, and Saint-Zotique accept Christmas lights (no character structures, wreaths, or other Christmas decorations), cardboard, and old electronics (televisions, DVD players, CD or video players, radios, computers, printers, etc.). Polystyrene (Styrofoam and plastic #6) from food containers, packaging, or construction is accepted through the MRC Ecocenters Network. Furthermore, the four ecocenters in the network will be closed on Sundays, December 24th and 31st, 2023. To provide time slots during this period, the ecocenters in Vaudreuil-Dorion and Saint-Zotique will be open on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, December 21, 22, 23, and 28, 29, 30, and the ecocenters in Rigaud and Pincourt will be open on Fridays and Saturdays, December 22, 23, 29, 30, from 9 am to 4 pm.
Recyclable Materials
Printed materials, paper containers and packaging, cardboard, glass, metal, and plastic (including tissue paper, non-metallic wrapping paper, toy boxes, etc.) are accepted in the recyclable materials collection.
Organic Materials
Share your leftovers with family and friends, freeze them, or donate them to an organization that helps those in need. Want to prevent your old food from ending up in the brown bin? Visit the page: Gaspillage alimentaire for practical tips. Table napkins, paper towels, and parchment paper are accepted in the brown bin. However, compostable plastic tableware is not; please choose washable or cardboard tableware.
In case of doubt, residents are invited to consult the sorting aid tool at www.tricycle-mrcvs.ca/en.
