18 Jul Call for nominations for the Town Planning Advisory Committee (TPAC)
The Town of Hudson is looking for a residents interested in getting involved in its Town Planning Advisory Committee (TPAC). Following the departure of a member, we are looking for a new member motivated to join TPAC.
What is TPAC?
TPAC is established under a by-law of the town in accordance with the Act respecting land use planning and development. Composed of 2 elected officials and 7 citizens, the role of TPAC is to issue opinions and recommendations to the municipal council on various land use planning topics. Although it is an advisory and non-decision-making body, TPAC plays an essential role in making recommendations, particularly on applications for minor exemptions and projects subject to the Site Planning and Architectural Integration Program (SPAIP).
TPAC meets behind closed doors and generally meets once a month, on the first Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. The term of office of the members is 2 years and is renewable.
Selection criteria:
1. Be a resident of Hudson;
2. Participate in meetings that usually take place on the first Tuesday of the month (by Zoom or in person);
3. Be willing to actively engage and have the ability to analyze in the interest of the community;
4. Have expertise or an interest in land use planning, urban planning, architecture or heritage;
5. Have access to a computer and an email address;
A candidate from a background that is currently under-represented on the committee may be favoured for the sake of representativeness and collective enrichment.
