Public Notice: Adoption of draft by-law 766-2024

Public Notice is, hereby, given that:

At the regular meeting of the Council of the Town of Hudson held at the Stephen F. Shaar Community Centre, on April 2nd, 2024, the municipal council as adopted by resolution the following by-law:

BY-LAW 766-2024 CONCERNING THE DIVISION OF THE TOWN INTO 6 ELECTORAL DISTRICTS

This draft By-Law divides the territory of the municipality into 6 electoral districts and delimits these districts in such a way as to ensure a balance in terms of the number of electors in each district and their socio-economic homogeneity. Each district is represented by a municipal councillor

Notice is hereby given that the draft By-Law is available for consultation at my office, at the Town Hall, during regular office hours, at the address indicated below.

Notice is also given that any elector, in accordance with section 17 of the Act respecting elections and referendums in municipalities (RLRQ, c. E-2.2), may, within 15 days of publication of this notice, make known in writing his or her opposition to the draft By-Law. This objection must be addressed to

Notice is further given, in accordance with section 18 of the Act respecting elections and referendums in municipalities (RLRQ, c. E-2.2), that the municipal council will hold a public consultation to hear those present on the proposed By-Law if the number of objections within the prescribed time limit is equal to or greater than 100.

This by-law is available for consultation on the Town of Hudson website.
