Public consultation meeting – draft by-laws 526.19-2025 & 529.3-2025 – Thursday, August 14, 2025 – 7 PM

Public notice is hereby given by the undersigned, Town Clerk of the Town of Hudson, of the following:

At its regular meeting held on Monday, August 4, 2025, Council adopted the following draft By-Laws:

BY-LAW 526.19-2025 TO AMEND THE ZONING BY-LAW IN ORDER TO MODIFY THE PROVISIONS RELATED TO AIR CONDITIONING UNITS AND HEAT PUMPS”

“BY-LAW 529.3-2025 TO AMEND THE PERMITS AND CERTIFICATES BY-LAW IN ORDER TO MODIFY THE REQUIREMENTS FOR BUILDING PERMITS”

In accordance with an Act respecting land use planning and development (chapter A-19.1), a public consultation meeting will be held on August 14, 2025, at 7:00 PM, at the Stephen F. Shaar Community Centre, located at 394 Main, Hudson.

The purpose of this public consultation meeting is to explain:

  • draft By-Law 526.19-2025 the object of which is to allow air conditioning units and heat pumps in the front yard for multifamily or mixed-use buildings; and
  • draft By-Law 529.3-2025, the object of which is to modify the requirements for building permit applications;

During this meeting, the person presiding will explain the draft By-Law and will hear every person or body wishing to express an opinion exclusively on the draft by-laws.

The first draft of By-Laws 526.19-2025 contains provisions making it subject to approval by way of referendum.

The draft by-law 529.3-2025 is not subject to approval by way of referendum.

This draft By-Law is available for consultation online and at the Town Hall, 481 Main, Hudson, during working hours which are from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., from Monday to Thursday and from 8:30 to noon on Friday.
