Emerald ash borer confirmed in the Vaudreuil-Soulanges MRC
On June 15th 2015, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency confirmed the presence of emerald ash borer in the territory of the MRC of Vaudreuil-Soulanges, specifically in the city of Vaudreuil-Dorion. A concerned citizen noticed their tree was not doing well, and sounded the alarm to the Environment Division of the city. It showed indeed all the characteristics of an emerald ash had reached the area: the thinning crown, the D-shaped holes in the bark, damaged leaves. On site, the employees of the Green Line found the bug and forwarded it to the Agency for analysis.
