30 Aug Workshop for adults with anxiety disorders
Since June 2008, the territory of Vaudreuil – Soulanges has relied on a community organisation that helps people with anxiety disorders. The name of this organization is: Le Versant.
According to recent statistics, anxiety disorders affect 12% of the population, and cause mild to severe handicap. Anxiety is one of the most common mental health problems. That being said, it also has a major impact on our economy and causes absenteeism. The physical symptoms related to anxiety generate frequent visits to the emergency room and to our health care system. Luckily, numerous therapeutic approaches can relieve anxiety, but the therapy that is the most efficient is cognitive-behavioural. It is this therapeutic approach that Le Versant uses.
Le Versant has opened up registration for its 2018 autumn session. A workshop in English will take place in Vaudreuil-Dorion on Tuesday evenings and will begin on September 18. Four groups are also scheduled in French, one of which will take place over two days during a weekend in November.
The workshops last two (2) hours per week and take place over a period of twelve (12) weeks and are offered to residents of Vaudreuil-Soulanges.
You can register for a workshop through the Le Versant website: leversant.org. Registration deadline is September 10th, 2018. Places are limited. Fees of approximately 40$ will apply for the material required for participation in the group.
