Watering ban in place – June 2017

Due to fluctuations in our potable water supply system, and a high demand, the outdoor use of drinking water is strictly forbidden with the exception of the following uses:

  • Manual watering of flowers and gardens (article 4.2)
  • The filling of swimming pools with a single hose is permitted between 9 p.m. and midnight (article 8.5.2)
  • The filling of a new swimming pool is allowed according to the conditions described in the swimming pool permit
  • Watering on a construction site (Articles 8.3.1 and 8.3.3)
  • Watering for lawn treatment with biopesticides (nematodes) (Article 8.6)
  • Washing a parking lot, driveway or patio in order to apply a protective coating (section 8.1.2)

Any other use of water is prohibited, in particular, but not limited to, mechanical, automatic or manual watering of the lawn, washing of a building, a vehicle, parking lot, driveway or patio.  This notice is effective immediately and will continue until further notice.  Regular inspections will take place and infractions will be given to offenders.  Everyone’s collaboration is necessary in order to maintain at all times a minimum quantity of drinking water as well as to be able to intervene in case of fire.  The Town wishes to make clear that the quality of the water supplied is not compromised.
