Spring flood update – Friday April 19th 2019

The Town of Hudson is now in mobilization mode.

Predictions from the Direction régionale de la sécurité civile are that water levels in the Ottawa River will increase significantly until Tuesday April 23rd.

Public security is on the ground visiting the most vulnerable homes, recommending to those property owners to prepare their homes (moving items out of the basement and up to higher levels), and to make plans to evacuate.

RESIDENTS IN HOMES MOST AT RISK: Call the dedicated phone number: 450-458-4011 to let us know you are evacuating your home and to provide contact information.

ALL OTHER RIVERSIDE RESIDENTS: you are strongly urged to protect your properties against the flooding that will likely occur in the next few days.

Sand and sandbags are available at the municipal garage, from 8 am to 8 pm, from Friday April 19th to Tuesday April 23rd. Property owners are strongly advised to bring shovels and manpower to help with filling their sandbags.

CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS. If you’re able-bodied and would like to volunteer to help fill sandbags at the municipal garage, your neighbours would be most grateful. 529 Main, between 8 am and 8 pm.
