Waste management

The Town of Hudson urges residents to adopt sound environmental practices, especially distinguishing between waste and recyclable materials.

In Hudson, household garbage collection is on Mondays in the eastern sector and Thursdays in the western sector. Collection for the central sector is on Mondays and Thursdays.

The collection of bulk waste is on the third Friday of the month. It is necessary to register your bulk waste to Rod Hodgson, (450) 458-5347, extension 207 before 11 a.m. the Thursday before the 3rd Friday of each month.

Refused materials: televisions, computers, electronics, construction materials (gyprock, insulation, plywood etc…) wood (2 x 4s etc…) metal bars & pipes, glass, tires & wheels, paint, oil, haz-mat, light bulbs, toilets, sinks, bath tubs, demolition materials etc…

The above are to be transported to the Vaudreuil Eco-Centre located at 2800 Henry Ford, or to the Rigaud Eco-Centre located at 32, rue de la Coopérative

Garbage MUST be placed in the new Green Bin that is provided by the Town of Hudson.

Only this bin will be emptied from now on with the new auto collect operations. Any other bin or bags will not be collected.

The containers should be placed on your private property a maximum of one meter from the curb.

Recycling collection takes place every week on Wednesdays. Beginning January 2017, recycling pick-up will be on Mondays, with the first pick-up scheduled for Monday, January 2nd. Bins should be placed on your private property a maximum of one metre from the curb.

Face the wheels towards your residence so that the lid opens to the street. Make sure the bin is free of other objects within a perimeter of 60 cm.

Materials accepted in recycling collection are:

The Vaudreuil-Soulanges MRC Écocentres are regional facilities that serve as a complement to existing municipal collection services.

Unsure what to do with materials that are not accepted as part of municipal waste collection? Make an environmentally friendly choice by bringing them to one of your local Écocentres!

The Écocentre services are available only to residents of the 23 municipalities within the Vaudreuil-Soulanges MRC. Residents can deposit up to 12 m3 of materials every year, free of charge.

You must sort all of your materials before arriving at any of the ecocentres located in the Vaudreuil-Soulanges MRC.

Important: organic waste such as leaves, branches, soil and grass clippings are not accepted.

Make sure you bring proof of residence from any of the 23 Vaudreuil-Soulanges municipalities when you visit one of your local Écocentres
