Municipal Life

(available in French only).

Bill 122 established a renewed vision of the relationship between Québec and municipalities, with a particular emphasis on greater accountability to citizens rather than to the government. In addition, it reflects the desire to increase the autonomy of municipalities, to remove barriers to the exercise of their competencies and to strengthen citizen participation in local decision-making.

It is in this context that this tool was developed for citizens who wish to better understand the changes made with the adoption of this law and the role they are now called upon to play within their municipality.
