Research project to better understand the experiences of flood victims

It has been almost five years since the historic floods of 2017 & 2019 that were experienced by many residents of the municipalities of Quebec. A research project funded by the RIISQ network (Réseau intersectoriel des inondations au Québec) is starting in January 2022 in the MRC of Vaudreuil-Soulanges. The goal of this project is to better understand the experiences of flood victims and to propose measures to mitigate these negative experiences.

Residents of flooded areas in the municipalities of Vaudreuil-sur-le-lac, Terrasse-Vaudreuil, L’Île-Perrot, L’Île-Cadieux, Rigaud, Pointe-Fortune, Hudson, Vaudreuil-Dorion, and Notre-Dame-de-l’île-perrot will soon be contacted by the team of researchers from the Centre de recherche et d’innovation en sécurité civile du Québec (Centre RISC), McGill University, and the University of Montreal.

We invite you to participate in this research project by answering the questionnaires that will be sent to you during the months of January and February 2022.

If you wish to have clarification on the project and the three (3) ethical certificates that have been granted to ensure confidentiality of information please contact the research team using this email address
