Fire Prevention week – La Grande Évacuation!

Fire Prevention week – La Grande Évacuation!

We invite you to participate in this year’s “La Grande Évacuation” exercise.

“La Grande Évacuation” is an opportunity for your family to test their fire evacuation plan.

Every year, fire departments in Quebec drive around in their towns with their lights and sirens activated to simulate your smoke detector sounding. When you hear the fire trucks coming, we invite you to put your fire safety evacuation plan into effect and exit your building and meet at one common area away from the house. This is an opportunity to practice your fire drill to see if everyone is aware of what to do in an emergency.

On Wednesday October 11th 2017 from 6 pm to 8 pm, the Hudson fire department will be driving around the town with lights and sirens activated to simulate your smoke detector sounding.

If you wish to participate, please email us your address at and we will take the time to stop by your home to congratulate your family on a job well done.

We will also put your address in a draw for a chance to come and be a firefighter for a day at the Hudson fire department. This includes getting dressed in fire gear and air packs, use fire dept. tools and hoses, demonstration of specialty equipment that we use and a tour of the trucks.

Please come out and show us you are prepared for a fire emergency.

The time that you spent now practicing your evacuation plan could mean the seconds that you will need in a real fire emergency.
