Métis Flag Raising Ceremony

Métis Flag Raising Ceremony

Hudson residents are invited to a flag-raising ceremony to be held on Saturday June 16th at 11 am. During this ceremony, the Métis flag will be raised on the grounds of Town Hall, 481 Main Road. We are honoured to welcome special guest Archie Martin, Deputy Chief on the Council of the First Métis People of Canada.

We honour the Métis nation to highlight the deep roots of the Métis people in the territory we know as Hudson. Jean-Baptist Sabourin, who settled here in 1732, was of French origin and his wife, Marie-Josephte was of the Fox Tribe (Outagamies).

All are welcome to join us in this short ceremony, refreshments will be served after the raising of the flag.
