The Hudson Historical Society will kick off the New Year with a very interesting presentation on January 14th at 7:30 pm.

We are pleased to present a pictorial essay by local Historian, Rod Hodgson, titled: “The Franklin Expedition: A tragic 19th Century Tale of Cold, Ice, Starvation, Cannibalism and DEATH.”

It was led by Sir John Franklin, an already established Arctic explorer of the Royal Navy. This tragic expedition is probably the most famous of all the expeditions that sailed into the Canadian Arctic in search of the North West Passage.

Rod will have close to 100 slides telling the audience about the expedition and what happened and the more recent discoveries of Franklin’s two ships, the HMS Erebus and the HMS Terror.

Guests are most welcome.  Hope to see you there.
