SUMMARY:Annual General Meeting of Le Pont/Bridging Food Bank
DESCRIPTION:  \nHudson’s Le Pont/Bridging Food Bank Honours Porchfest’s Tim Walsh \nThe Annual General Meeting of Le Pont/Bridging Food Bank will be held on Wednesday\, March 5th at 6:30 pm at Hudson’s Stephen F. Shaar Community Centre. All are welcome. \n“Le Pont”\, as we often proudly refer to ourselves\, would not be able to serve the now nearly 40 families in need without the help of volunteers. From our “in-house” volunteers to organizations and individuals\, there are so many to thank. We would be remiss however not to use our Annual General Meeting to highlight one in particular. \nHudson musician and music teacher Tim Walsh has been selected as this year’s honouree. Over the last four years\, Tim has been the rallying force behind two local initiatives\, Hudson’s Porchfest and the Hudson Community Choir and Hudson Young Voices\, to support Le Pont/Bridging. He is quick to say that he is but a member of teams that includes Monica Gunter with the choirs\, and Donna Stewart\, Sandy Racicot-Day and Phil Prince with Porchfest. \nConcert attendees and Porchfest “listeners” are asked to donate food items in lieu of admission fees. Commercial porches such as Sauvé`s are asked to donate directly to Le Pont as their participation fee. Tim singles out Andrew Dumas from Sauvé`s as well as Alex Mate of the Alibi Group (Alibi Lounge\, Alibi Barn and the Château du lac) as being at the forefront\, and even refers to Andrew as Hudson’s “King of Kensington”! As well\, net profits from the sale of food and merchandise are divided between Le Pont/Bridging and the UN High Commissioner for Refugees. These are definitely team efforts\, with a leader who deserves our gratitude. \nLike many of Le Pont’s “unsung heroes”\, Tim Walsh doesn’t look for recognition. This should not keep us from expressing our gratitude especially when the need of families suffering from food insecurity has been growing. \nWe are also proud to announce that we have launched our new and improved website: lepontbridging.org. Intended to be a resource for those in need of help\, as well as to keep our supporters informed of how they can contribute to Le Pont/Bridging\, it would not have happened without the input of many volunteers\, especially that of graphic designer Vanessa Vallières. \nLe Pont/Bridging Food Bank\n450-458-5318\nInfo@lepontbridging.org\n

SUMMARY:“For the Birds” Celebrating Wild Bird Conservation
DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, March 29th\, 5:30 p.m. \nWhitlock Golf and Country Club (128\, Côte Saint-Charles\, Hudson)\nTickets: $250\n\nLe Nichoir’s “For the Birds” benefit auction and dinner will be held on Saturday March 29th at the Whitlock Golf and Country Club. This year’s fundraiser will again be exciting and lots of fun! During the cocktail\, take a  group photo or couples shot with gifted photographer Talia Dezso\, and browse the 75-100 silent auction items\, donated mostly by local businesses. For dinner\, enjoy a delicious tasting menu prepared by Italian executive chef\, Thomas Gagliardi\, known for his experience working in European Michelin restaurants. The evening will end with a live auction given by professional auctioneer Robin Pridham\, followed by dancing to music from Hudson’s own The Coveralls. \nLe Nichoir is long known for its auctions\, from our first “For the Birds”\, held at the Whitlock Golf and Country Club back in 1999. That year\, the money raised paid for a septic system servicing a  flush toilet in our headquarters\, Marnie Clarke’s old  barn! Now\, operating in our modern conservation centre\, one of the largest of its kind in Canada\, and known for its expertise internationally\, Le Nichoir continues to serve our local community\, and celebrate its roots in Hudson. \n“For the Birds” is an important fundraiser for bird care and environment education programs. Join us on March 29th to show your support\, meet our team\, have fun and most importantly\, have a positive impact on the natural world we enjoy in Hudson! \nNot able to attend “For the Birds”? \nOur team is actively looking for auction item donations and sponsors. Some popular auction items include “experiences” such as car or hotel rentals\, flights\, local cruises\, shows\, sports games. Other ideas include gift certificates\, household items\, electronics and any other items of value. Tax receipts are available for donations except for gift certificates. For more information contact Jamie at boutique@lenichoir.org. \nCorporate sponsorships are also available at different levels and price points. For more information please visit our website.

DESCRIPTION:For April 6\, 2025\, we have invited Laurence Kayaleh and Elizabeth Dolin to return to Hudson. However\, this time\, they have welcomed a pianist\, Lucas Porter\, to join them. As a result\, their program will present chamber music for piano trio. \nPianist Lucas Porter joined Laurence Kayaleh and Elizabeth Dolin for a series of concerts in Toronto during December 2024 to resounding success\, enjoyed both by their audiences and the artists themselves. There is a natural musical affinity and trust felt by the trio that is evident in their exciting and dynamic ensemble performances. They have many engagements for this year in Montreal as well as Toronto\, Cobourg and Nova Scotia. \nTo know more: www.hudsonchambermusic.ca \nLocation: \nSaint James Church\n642 Main Road\, Hudson\nApril 6 at 4 pm \nTickets: $30
