Continuity of passenger train service on the Vaudreuil-Hudson line

Continuity of passenger train service on the Vaudreuil-Hudson line

Transated exerpt of a communiqué from the Réseau de transport métropolitaine (RTM)

Montréal, April 19, 2018 – The Réseau de transport métropolitain (RTM)) has been informed that Canadian Pacific (CP) will ensure the continuity of service of passenger trains, despite the possible strike by two of the unions representing CP employees on Saturday, April 21, from 00:01 for an indefinite period of time. Service on the Candiac, Saint-Jérôme and Vaudreuil-Hudson train lines will be maintained.

This continuity of service is possible thanks to a decision by CP to ensure the maintenance of level crossings and signaling devices throughout its network in order to offer safe and efficient service.

Although passenger train service is maintained, the RTM wishes to inform its users that should signaling problems or level crossing failures occur, the restoration of service may take slightly longer than usual.

The RTM continues to monitor the situation closely. Any development regarding this situation will be communicated to its users by means of customer notices and press releases on its website ( and information on the Twitter accounts of the lines Candiac (@rtm_CA), Saint -Jérôme (@rtm_SJ) and Vaudreuil-Hudson (@rtm_VH).
