25 Apr Bell Falls Dam
The Town of Hudson wishes to reassure the public about the risk of a rupture of the Bell Falls dam (located on the Red River) issued today by the ministère de la Sécurité publique.
The ministère de la Sécurité publique confirms that the risk of rupture is minimal. Should the dam rupture, the amount of water that would subsequently flow into the Red River and into the Ottawa River would affect the current water level by about 1 to 2 centimeters.
No preventive evacuation or special emergency measures are needed at this time. Public Safety personnel are maintaining a close watch of the water level. Residents are asked to remain vigilant and to report any changes by calling 450-458-4011 24/7.
